Descent of Goddess Ganga to the MaanavLoka

Descent of Goddess Ganga to the MaanavLoka

It was second day of Lord Hanuman’s arrival and first day of the holy Charan Pooja. Two Sessions of the Pooja had been completed. First was for a Mathang man called Basantha and 2nd was for a Mathang woman called Charitha. After the completion of 2nd session, a Mathang young man called Dhanushka got special knowledge of Karma and Desire from Lord Indra Himself. Third session of the Charan Pooja was to be performed for the same man. When Mathangs gathered in the holy Hanumandal and Lord Hanuman appeared, Dhanushka told everything he had learned from Lord Indra. All the attendees listened to him carefully and the appointed scribe inscribed everything in the logbook.

To make Yajman Dhanushka’s soul enlightened enough to make Arpanam, Lord Hanuman spoke words of wisdom. He said, “O Mathangs, As I told you earlier, king Sagara was an ancestor of Lord Ram. His elder wife Sumati was destined to remain childless all her life. When she expressed her pain to sage Aurva, he decided to change her destiny. He knew that only two things are required to bring a life into existence – (1) Fluid of Space (2) Threads of Time. He applied his vast knowledge of Space-Time to come to the conclusion that a woman can mother as many as 60,000 children. He set up a huge experiment under which about 60,000 women of the kingdom were made soulless so as to use their wombs for bringing 60,000 lives into existence.
